International Conference on Advances in Robotics (AIR 2025)

On 4 July 2025, HERON Deputy Director Prof. E. Papadopoulos was invited as a Plenary Speaker at the International Conference on Advances in Robotics (AIR 2025), a conference jointly organized by The Robotics Society (TRS) of India and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Conducted every two years, the AIR conference draws an international audience of academics, researchers, industry representatives and students with a particular focus and expertise in robotics. Held at IIT at Jodhpur from 2 to 5 July 2025, this year’s conference featured a robust programme including plenaries, oral and poster sessions, workshops, and an industry startup track, fostering new collaborations in the field.

On his plenary speech under the title “Space Robotics Challenges: Planetary Exploration and In-Orbit Servicing”,  Prof. E. Papadopoulos highlighted key engineering challenges and innovations shaping the next generation of planetary exploration and orbital robotic systems. The speech was attended by conference participants both in person and remotely.
