Educational visit to the 3rd Model Lyceum of Ilion

On Tuesday, March 11, 2026, Prof. Sergios Theodoridis visited the 3rd Model Lyceum of Ilion, Athens and gave a lecture to the 2nd  grade students. The lecture introduced the students to some of the very basic notions of AI and Machine Learning, such as prediction, classification, deep networks, and large language models. The end of the lecture was focused on ethical aspects of AI with emphasis on the use of AI as a tool for learning including its benefits and risks.

The lecture was followed by a discussion with many interesting questions raised by the students. The event was well attended, with more than 40 students participating.
