1st HERON Industrial & Policy Advisory Committee Meeting

On 11 June 2026, HERON- The Hellenic Robotics Center of Excellence, held the first meeting of its Industrial & Policy Advisory Committee (IPAC) in a hybrid format. Evangelia Sofouli and Nikolaos Tsakalakis attended in person, while Charalampos Navrozidis, Antony Cassano, and Dr. Leonidas Manousakis participated remotely, bringing together perspectives from public administration, regional government, industry, research and healthcare.

The meeting opened with Prof. Petros Maragos, who presented the role of the Committee in supporting HERON’s strategic direction and strengthening collaboration between research, industry and public authorities.

Dr Vasileia Filidou presented the work related to national reforms and policy, including the market questionnaire, the analysis of its results and the next steps involving relevant public authorities. Dr Gregory Yovanof provided an update on the development of the Hellenic Robotics Ecosystem, HERON’s networking activities and the upcoming Hellenic Robotics Forum (HRF) 2026.

The presentations were followed by a constructive discussion, during which IPAC members exchanged perspectives and provided valuable feedback on the challenges, priorities and next steps for advancing robotics and AI in Greece. The meeting concluded with a light lunch, offering further opportunities for informal discussion, networking and the exchange of ideas.
