Visit of the General Secretary for Research and Innovation

On Friday, 17 April, the HERON – Hellenic Robotics Center of Excellence (HERON CoE) welcomed the General Secretary  for Research and Innovation, Dr. Dimitrios Terzis, during his official visit to the Institute of Robotics of the Athena Research Center.

The meeting was attended by the Board of Directors Chair and Director General of the Athena Research Center, Prof. Ioannis Emiris, the Director-Elect of the Institute of Robotics, Prof. Konstantinos Daniilidis, as well as the leadership of HERON CoE: Director & Scientific Coordinator Prof. Petros Maragos, Deputy Director Prof. Evangelos Papadopoulos, and Executive Manager Dr. Grigorios Yovanof.

During the visit, Dr. Terzis received a comprehensive tour of the facilities and was briefed on the ongoing activities, strategic priorities, and long-term vision. Emphasis was given to the pivotal role of robotics as a key driver of innovation and technological advancement for Greece.

The discussions further underscored the importance of enhancing research and innovation in robotics, thereby creating opportunities for Athena RC and HERON CoE to take on leading roles at both the national and European levels.
